The USB300 from Vitec is a small USB stick for connecting PC’s and smart home servers to the world of EnOcean based radio products.

The USB300 is equipped with the TCM 310 transceiver gateway module. It provides bidirectional EnOcean radio and bidirectional serial interface via USB. Radio messages are sent and received via the USB host. Additional control commands can be sent from the host to USB300, e.g. to configure repeater functionality.

1) Hardware

  • Home automation gateway VeraPlus or VeraEdge (VeraPlus in our example)


  • EnOcean USB interface (USB310 or USB300)


  • EnOcean devices


2) Installing the PlugIn

Let's start by inserting the USB dongle into the VeraPlus USB port. You do not need to turn off the VeraPlus for this. The LED of the dongle should light green.

From the VeraPlus user interface, go to the "Apps" tab, then "Install apps".


Search the term "Enocean" to filter the plugins.


The application we are interested in is the "EnOcean ESP3 Gateway". Click "Install."

The plugin is downloaded and installed on the VeraPlus gateway.


The new "EnOcean Gateway" module appears in the list of your devices.


3) Configuring the COM Port

It is now necessary to configure the USB port of the VeraPlus and to indicate that the device "EnOcean Gateway" will use it.

Go to the "Apps" tab, then in "Develop apps", and finally "Serial Port configuration".


Enter the following parameters to configure communication with the serial port:
- Baud Rate: 57600
- Data bits: 8
- Parity: none
- Stop bits: 1

Click the "Save" button.

4) Adding a device

As with the Z-Wave devices, an inclusion procedure is required for the VeraPlus to know the EnOcean devices to control them. To do this you will need to go to "Device" then switch the "EnOcean Gateway" device to "Learn" mode.


Press the learning button of the module you want to associate.

Example with the Nodon switch: CWS-2-1-01.

Switching to "Learn" mode has received a notification that tells us that the two keys of the EnOcean double switch have been detected.


Exit "LEARN" mode by clicking on "NORMAL". Several modules have been created, two of which react to the right and left keys of the double switch. The modules are represented by lamps but these are the different controls of your EnOcean switch.


Note: The interface displays six modules. Indeed the two keys of the main switch each control their module but however the four other controls can be actuated and therefore put in position ON.

Each module is operated in a different way:

  • Press simultaneously the two ON buttons on the switch.
  • Press simultaneously the two OFF buttons on the switch.
  • Press simultaneously on the ON part of the right key and OFF on the left key.
  • Press simultaneously on the OFF part of the right key and ON on the left key.

It is possible to pass these four modules in OFF position however it is necessary to create a scene.

5) Creating a Scene

First, go to the Scenes tab of the interface. Then create a new scenario by clicking on "Add Scene" at the top right.


Click "Select Device"

Then select one of the two modules operated by a single key on your switch. (We advise you to activate them before creating your scenario in order to better identify them in the list of modules.


For this step you must select the banner below using the drop-down menu.
Then validate to move on. The aim here is to determine the state of the switch for which the scene will be triggered.


So that the second button that can be controlled with a single key of the switch also performs this action you can add the module by repeating the operation with the "Add another trigger" banner.

Select "Next step" to go forward.


Then click "Select Device" and tick the modules you want to operate with this scene. Here we will take the four modules that have not been previously selected.


The next step is to switch the four modules from the ON state to the OFF state, so the VeraPlus is advised that this scenario is intended to switch OFF the relevant modules.

In step 3 you can set conditions to this scenario as well as rename it and place it in the room you want. To finish press "Finish".

Your scenario is created the modules can be switched to OFF using the buttons on the bottom of the switch.

Note: If you want to turn off some particular modules and not all of them, you can do so in step 2 by selecting only those that interest you. It is also possible to create other scenarios in order to have more possibilities on the commands.

The plug-in has detected the temperature and humidity sensor, the sensor measurements are displayed after a few minutes on your VeraPlus UI7 interface.

Attention: Some sensors may not be supported by the plugin.
